A Greek Easter

In Greece, Easter is the biggest holiday of the year; it’s a time for family, feasting, and long-standing traditions that bring people together around the table. While the UK is used to Easter eggs and Sunday roasts, in Greece, the centrepiece of the celebration is a whole lamb, slow-roasted over an outdoor spit, surrounded by friends and family.

This year, estiatorio Milos London is bringing this tradition to the city with an authentic Greek Easter feast on Sunday, 20th April. The restaurant will be roasting a whole lamb on a spit right on Regent Street, just as it’s done in villages across Greece. Alongside it, guests can enjoy traditional dishes like Magiritsa soup, eaten to break the fast after midnight mass, and Tsoureki, the soft, sweet, braided bread that’s an essential part of the Easter table. The celebration wouldn’t be complete without tsougrisma, the Greek egg-cracking game, where the last unbroken egg is said to bring good luck for the year ahead.

Book now for 20th April.
