Matilda in the Spotlight on it's 15th Anniversary
More than 40 Concierge and their guests enjoyed the Royal Shakespeare Company’s West End production of Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre.
As the beloved musical celebrates 15 years on stage in London, the guests settled down to watch the showcase performance, being transported into the wonderfully mischievous world of Roald Dahl.
Now the 10th longest running musical in West End history, Matilda The Musical continues to play to packed houses. Now seen by 13 million people in over 100 cities worldwide, the show is also currently on a major UK and Ireland tour until January 2027.
A New Cast
A tonic for audiences of all ages, this anarchic production about a strong and determined heroine with a vivid imagination has now won 101 international awards including 25 for Best Musical. The latest new cast includes Matt Corner (Mr Wormwood) and Amy Ross (Mrs Wormwood), who joined Jon Robyns in the role of Miss Trunchbull. Lola Judd, Scarlett Lindsey and Sachie Sheridan joined existing performer Sithuni Gamage, in the title role of Matilda. Lucy St. Louis will take over the role of Miss Honey from Eve Norris in January.
The Story
Following the extraordinary story of Matilda Wormwood, a bright young girl with a vivid imagination and remarkable powers, the musical celebrates the importance of standing up for what is right. With its witty humour, memorable songs and spectacular choreography, the performance brought Dahl’s beloved characters to life on stage.
From Matilda’s determined spirit to the formidable Miss Trunchbull, there was plenty to delight the audience, offering Concierges a taste of why this award-winning West End favourite continues to captivate audiences.
