A spokesperson for The Society said: "A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the Battersea Beach Clean last week. Together we collected all sorts of litter, supported the local community, and helped protect our riverside environment."

They added: "Teamwork, commitment and small actions can really make a big difference!"

Battersea Beach Clean

The Battersea Beach Clean is a voluntary River Action group, funded by the environmental charity, Thames21, with the support of Wandsworth Council. Clean-ups take place with the tireless help of community volunteers. The aim is to clear the Battersea foreshore and slipway of litter, removing plastic pollution and other inorganic litter from the Thames, improving the river for the wildlife and people that use and treasure it.
