Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre
Now celebrating 15 years on stage, Matilda The Musical remains one of the West End’s most enduring triumphs – a show that continues to delight audiences of all ages. Adapted from Roald Dahl’s beloved novel and brought to life by the Royal Shakespeare Company, the musical blends sharp wit with genuine heart, pairing Tim Minchin’s brilliantly irreverent score with Dennis Kelly’s clever, emotionally resonant book.
At its centre is Matilda Wormwood, a small girl with an extraordinary imagination and an unshakeable sense of justice, battling the larger-than-life tyranny of Miss Trunchbull and the indifference of the grown-ups around her. Iconic numbers such as Naughty, When I Grow Up and Revolting Children have become theatrical favourites, while the inventive staging and storytelling ensure the show feels as fresh today as it did at its 2010 debut.
Fifteen years on, Matilda The Musical remains a joyous celebration of courage, creativity and the power of standing up for what’s right.
Simone Caretti, Head Concierge at The BoTree, said: "Matilda is funny and uplifting, with a powerful message. The kids’ performance is incredible!"
Silvio Forino, Head Concierge at Park Hyatt London River Thames said: "I absolutely loved Matilda! The young actors completely stole the show with their talent. The production is so smooth, with a few interactive moments I particularly enjoyed. Plus, I've had a couple of tunes stuck in my head for a few days. 🙂 "
Alba Martinez, Head Concierge at ME London, said: "It was a really good show for families and children. Quite interactive, especially the part of the teacher (our favourite character!)
One of those "not to miss" shows."
